OCEANSIDE: Shooting victim removed from life support: "Police are asking for the public's help to find suspects in a suspected gang shooting last week that caused the death of an 18-year-old Oceanside man.
Edgar Luna, who was shot last week in an apparent drive-by shooting, was taken off life support on Wednesday.
Luna was shot in the head Friday night in the 200 block of Lustrosos Street near Libby Lake City Park in Oceanside.
Luna had been in critical condition at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla until Wednesday night, when he was removed from life support.
Lt. Leonard Mata said no one is in custody in connection with the ongoing investigation. An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday.
In a written statement, Mata said that police are concerned the drive-by shooting may signal that gangs may be changing the way they're operating.
'Drive-by shootings have significantly decreased over the years, in large part due to self-imposed restrictions by street gangs,' Mata said in a statement."
