60 suspected members and associates of the Bloods and 18 alleged members and associates of the Latin Kings were charged with a variety of drug offenses.

"Ten suspected members and associates of the Latin Kings street gang were charged Thursday as part of a sweep in Newburgh, N.Y., by federal, state and local law enforcement, according to a person familiar with the investigation.

Preet Bharara, the U.S. Attorney in Manhattan, Orange County District Attorney Frank Phillips, as well as officials from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the New York State Police and the Newburgh Police Department, are expected to announce murder and racketeering charges at a press conference in White Plains, N.Y., later Thursday.

Nine people were arrested as part of the multi-agency investigation, the person said. In total, 10 have been charged, the person said.
