funneled drugs to some of the most violent street gangs based in Los Angeles, Long Beach and La Puente.

- More than 800 law enforcement officers fanned out across the Southland Thursday in a massive takedown capping a three-year investigation that targeted major methamphetamine and cocaine suppliers. They funneled drugs to some of the most violent street gangs based in Los Angeles, Long Beach and La Puente.

Thursday’s arrests came after a federal grand jury returned six indictments that named 61 defendants.

'Operation Red Rein' enlisted several law enforcement agencies including the California Highway Patrol; the sheriff’s departments of Los Angeles and Riverside counties; and nine police departments including those in Fontana and Montclair.
