Two more arrests have been made in connection with an investigation into Monday’s gang-related drive-by shooting in Kennewick. Detectives searched the home Thursday targeted by the shooters — 704 S. Hawthorne St. — and recovered bullets and bullet fragments from the outside of the house, said Mike Blatman, Kennewick police spokesman. Inside the house, investigators found drugs, a large-caliber firearm and gang-related paraphernalia, he said. The victims in the case are rival gang members of the seven suspects arrested so far and have not cooperated with the police investigation, Blatman said. “We strive everyday to live up to our motto of ‘Committed to Your Safety,’ ” Kennewick Police Chief Ken Hohenberg said. “However, if you engage in criminal gang activity at any level in our communities, regardless of being the aggressor of the victim, we will continue to pursue this criminal activity relentlessly and put people in jail.” Two residents in the home were arrested Thursday. Candida Suarez, 21, of Kennewick was booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of making false statements and three misdemeanor warrants. Bobby Rojas, 28, of Kennewick, was arrested on unrelated felony and misdemeanor warrants. Police say additional arrests are anticipated and prosecutors are reviewing the reports to see if additional charges are warranted. Two homes were hit in Monday’s drive-by shooting, but no one was injured. This is the second time the home at 704 S. Hawthorne St. has been targeted by rival gang members, police say.
